Tesla’s Powerwall Solar Battery versus Original Electric Power

A few weeks ago a Technology company released a new type of solar battery that would allow one person to run their house hold for quite a while. These batteries are well worth their price being less expensive than the leading type of battery. So far these batteries are meant to store backup power or for a better way to store solar energy when needed. With the release of an these new batteries consumers are now highly considering this as a great way to break ties with electric companies and living purely off of solar energy.

With the implementation of this new battery it sparks a change in people to store solar power and have no electrical dependency what so ever. Seeing as Tesla is widely known for their electric cars and newly designed luxury sedans consumers are looking toward this new solar energy as a bright new future and an eco-friendly way to not only save costs but save our planet. Since the release of Tesla’s new Powewall battery people have since started commenting that nuclear energy and fossil fuels are a thing of the past, which is not even correct it’s about storing the power and drawing the energy from whatever common source is used. Tesla’s Powerwall battery technology might seem new but in reality it’s just a better way of storing energy.

So actually this new technology is just about working with solar energy more efficiently than regular electric power and it’s not destroying it by any means especially since more everyday consumers are fascinated with the idea of living off the grid or just living more environmentally sound. But with the rise of better technology to help with everyday living is progressively more and more of a reality. In short Tesla’s Powerwall is just the beginning of a better situation for all to embrace.

Aeromobil’s Flying Car Crashes during Testing Phase

This past Friday the company Aeromobil who are currently testing their version of a flying car has had a set-back when the companies prototype crashed during a testing session with the cars Chief Designer Stefan Klein was behind the wheel but thankfully he was able to walk away from the accident, but for precautionary measures was still taken to a nearby hospital and cleared for release sometime later. It is speculated that the car had fallen at approximately 900 feet in a mid-air tail spin but as luck would have it Stefan Klein was able to release the vehicles on-board emergency parachute which helped to lighten the impact.

Aeromobil released a statement following the incident that the company will be using all recorded data from the crash to help improve with further development of the companies first flying vehicle, the light at the end of the tunnel was that the emergency parachute deploying successfully was it was meant to do and thus helped in saving the pilots Stefan Klein’s life. In a further statement Aeromobil stated that the third generation prototype vehicle only suffered minor damage thus allowing for further flight testing once the prototype is fully repaired.

Even though the vehicle is more plane than car it can still be tested on public roads but Aeromobil has estimated the vehicles approximate top speed to be 100mph on the ground and approximately 124 mph in the air. Its take off speed is approximately 90 mph and can reach 430 miles on one full tank of gas. Aeromobil hopes to start full production in early 2017.

The self-driving vehicle has picked up steam and is a top subject on many car consumers minds of late on what developments have been taken by Google. To start Google has mapped plenty of roads across the United States including within the Silicon Valley area, while their test drivers are in the car testing for certain scenarios that a typical driver will experience on the road. This data will be stored within the vehicles memory thus allowing the car the ability to react promptly to any danger that the vehicle may come across.

Google’s research shows that 90% of accidents are created by human error so taking away that issue by allowing the car to navigate and avoid road possible hazards all together, still some issues have not been worked out such as when an accident does happen who is responsible?, this will have insurance companies really rethinking the way they sell insurance to the public. Also, the technology part has been brought up many times such as hackers possibly taking control of the navigation and changing car routes or settings. Also how the car will handle serious weather but Google has said that the car will be able to handle rain and fog but the issue of snow is still being worked on.

There are at least 33,000 people who die every year due to car accidents that are usually caused by human error, what if that was taken away and the lives of loved ones were sparred?, think of the long term success that this project could achieve. The possibilities are endless and well worth the wait.

What about a hybrid from Ford, more than just a hybrid it is also considered an enjoyable ride which the 2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL is touted to be partly because of its the high mpg. Having both a gasoline engine and an electric motor the C-Max SEL has a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine and a strong electric motor with an incredible 188 horsepower with a combined estimation of 40 mpg which is only the beginning of the great features this vehicle has to offer. You get a vehicle with great handling abilities and a unique interior that separates it from other hybrids offered by competitors.

Engine Information and Specs

The new Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL wagon runs on a 2.0-liter four cylinder fuel engine which offers 141 horsepower and 129 lbs of torque. Equipped with an electric motor which is powered by a lithium-ion battery in combination can manufacture up to 188 horsepower, this power is sent to the front wheels via a (CVT) continuously variable transmission. While the C-Max was testing performance with acceleration testing showed it can go from 0 to 60 in 8.1 seconds which in fact is 2 seconds faster than the Toyota Prius. The estimated EPA on fuel economy for the 2015 C-Max Hybrid SEL is 42 mpg city, 37 mpg highway or 40 mpg combined.

Also during brake testing the C-Max has the stopping capability from 60mph in 134 feet, which is average performance. Government crash tests for the 2015 Ford C-Max achieved four stars for overall testing for frontal and five stars for side protection; overall achieving an acceptable score for best possible protection.

New Hybrid for Mitsubishi the Concept XR-PHEV

mitsubishi_concept_xr-phev_1Mitsubishi recently unveiled a new sporty hybrid aptly named the XR-PHEV Evolution Vision Gran Turismo this car debuted late this past year (2013) in Tokyo. The design or concept for this particular vehicle is said to have been inspired by a video game (Grand Turismo 6). Two groups were called upon by Mitsubishi one was a high development and design group and the second was an aerodynamic design group which were asked to help with the development of the vehicle for virtual space. This concept vehicle uses the plug-in hybrid EV Technology which is both a gasoline motor engine and an electric engine which powers all four wheels thru an eight-speed dual transmission, it is also equipped with an S-AWC vehicle control system that distributes power to all four wheels evenly. The cars body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) it also has front and rear diffusers.

 How to get the Car

You will need a PS3 and a copy of Grand Turismo 6. Once that is complete you can update your PS3 with update 1.08 then you will be able to purchase the vehicle in the Vision GT section or win it by completing one lap in this seasonal event.
